The 1970’s introduced jeans and denim as everyday clothing. Women began wearing pants more often than they ever had in previous decades. Skirts were designed short and flared. Pants followed this same trend, loose and flared at the bottom.

Men’s fashioned exploded in different patterns and colors in the 1970’s. High wasted pants became popular as well as high collared shirts (Peter Pan collars).




The color pallet of the 1970’s consisted of shades. There was an emphasis on dark colors especially blues, greens, and browns.
